Thank you for your interest in the Office Based Opioid Treatment Seminar, sponsored by the American Osteopathic Academy of Addiction Medicine
As you know, the treatment of opioid addiction is complex, including addiction to prescription opioid analgesics such as oxycodone, hydrocodone, morphine, and other opioids with abuse potential. While the treatment of opioid dependence with medications has previously been limited to the methadone clinic system, Federal legislation now allows for treatment of this disorder by qualified physicians using buprenorphine in an office-based setting. By completing this self-study course, along with a live seminar, you will also qualify for category a) 1A-AOA CME credit for the live portion of study; b) category 1B-AOA CME credit for the self study, and c) 4 hours AAFP Prescribed Credit hours for live seminar, which are eligible for the AMA's Physician Recognition Award Credit.

- Complete the online registration form and test.
- Sign up for a live seminar sponsored by AOAAM. See the calendar of courses on this website, or register online at http://www.docoptin.com/.
- Complete the waiver of eligibility and take it with you to the seminar. Our staff will forward this to the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment once it is verified that you have completed 8-hours of training and have successfully completed the online test. If you complete the waiver after attending a live seminar, please include a cover page with your name, contact information and the seminar attended and fax to 708-401-0360.
